Hi Josef, I'm interested to see what you find on this problem.
Our cluster repos are somewhat slower than the "local" ones, but we find the slowdown to be within what we expect given that our clustered datastore is Database- rather than Filesystem-based. We don't have any clustered repos that contain a lot of data, and we use MySQL rather than Oracle, so can't give you any more useful feedback on your case unfortunately.
