Hi Magnolians,

I was wondering what the logic is behind having both "asset names" and "node
names" in DAM?

IMHO this is a usability issue and is confusing our users.

The tree shows the "asset names" in the name column but the path indicator
breadcrumbs at the bottom are composed of the node names.

The rename asset dialog looks like this:

Is there really a necessity to have 2 names -- as well as a "filename", a
"title", a "caption", a "subject" and an "alt text" ? That makes 7 individually
settable names for the same asset!

It seems to me this is slight overkill. Our assets simply don't have that many
names. ;-)

Is there a technical reason why the asset name and the node name have to be
different?

Regards from Vienna,

Richard
