Hi, I am validating Magnolia CE 5.4.2, but I've stumble on problems when using
MySQL 5.6 as repository.

I followed this guide to set up a
Pooled
persistence manager.

I did the following steps up the magnoliaAuthor instance;
1) Run MySQL and create two schemas mgnl_author and mgnl_public
2) Replaced the derby-10.5.3.0_1 with mysql-connector-java-5.0.8-bin in
folder magnoliaAuthor\WEB-INF\lib
3) Edit the magnolia.properties and
jackrabbit-bundle-mysql-search.xml according to the guide, not using JNDI
4) Run the magnolia_control.bat start scrip in the bin folder
5) Update modules for the magnoliaAuthor instance through the web
interface and -re-start it

Up to this point everything works as suspected.

If I try update modules for magnoliaPublic I'll get the following error;

Error while installing or updating core module. Task 'IPConfig rules
changed' failed. (ItemExistsException: a node with uuid ...

If I stop magnolia an configure magnolia.properties and
jackrabbit-bundle-mysql-search.xml to point to mgnl_public I get
the same error.

ERROR info.magnolia.module.InstallContextImpl 17.09.2015 13:24:24 -- [3/609

updating core module. Task 'IPConfig rules changed' failed.

I understand I need to two DB schemas to handle author and public instance. But
what is the correct way to set up Magnolia 5.4.2 with MySQL, please provide a
step-by-step answer?

Greetings anykeystudio
