Me too in California. I don’t know how long it took, I went away and let it run
after about 1/2 hour.
Here in California it "only" took 20 minutes. But that's still way too
long for the installer. There's no indication on the download site as to
how big the file is, so there's no expectation before clicking on how
long it might take to download.
