It's strange. If you paste into excel, then select the cell and use the text to columns tool, using Space as delimiter, poof. Columns. Also, in libreoffice, paste special can be used to choose "unformatted text" and that works also. Surely there is a way to pop a simple tab delimited string into the clipboard and have it just work..
