On Win 10, I use LC 7.1.4 routinely and LC 8.1.x occasionally. In my experience, LC v7 runs as smoothly as it did on Windows 7. But LC 8.x is very hard to use with its slow script editor. Even dragging controls from the palette to the card is spotty.
Fortunately, my major project codebase is in LC 7.1.4.
