A DataGrid is a view of data, such as from a database.

Databases and a spreadsheets are VERY different categories of applications.

If you need a true spreadsheet, there are so many great ones available (LibreOffice is wonderful and free and open and runs on every platform) it'll probably be easier to just use one of those to get the job done.

If there's a more specialized app you want to build in LC that requires a fixed grid of editable cells you may find the table field a better starting point, as its behavior is more akin to a spreadsheet and is simpler to work with as well.
