I recently started working with android again, and was having trouble building successfully. aapt.exe would crash every time. If you happen to run into this, go to the sdk manager and install the build tools 22.01, then backup the aapt.exe in the most recent build tools (just in case) and copy the aapt.exe from the 22.01 build tools in to replace it. A version other than 22.01 might work, but during research of the problem I ran across mention of that specific version. Unfortunately, I can't seem to find it again, but hey, it worked!
