Considering you can drive or get a very cheap flight anywhere around Europe it shouldn’t matter too much and for logistical reasons being able to take advantage of all their resources for a conference every now and then would be refreshing. The team is now probably too large to fly everyone to a conference. Try being on the other side of the planet some time.
