I don’t know the process they used to arrive at the decision but they appear to have invented their own file format .lcdoc. There’s no spec for it in the repo unfortunately but there’s obviously lots of examples eg: https://github.com/runrev/livecode/blob/develop/docs/dictionary/command/add.lcdoc <https://github.com/runrev/livecode/blob/develop/docs/dictionary/command/add.lcdoc> It’s a nice easy format that would be simple for LC community members to contribute changes. Indeed you could easily do it all on line via GitHub’s document editor. Perhaps that was one of the design goals but as long as we don’t need to deal with those old xml files I’m happy.
