I hit this gotcha too a few months ago, as some ancient HyperCard scripts were embedded in something I was adapting. I got the idea that the comma-separated list was never legal in LC but somehow tolerated; then suddenly not tolerated any more, then (according to the Dictionary) tolerated again. Confusing.
