OSX and Windows use the ASCII character codes from 128-255 differently regardless of Font. So, unless you are using LiveCode 7, if you are using any character above ASCII 127, you do have to check what platform you are on. See the isoToMac and macToIso functions in the LiveCode Dictionary as well.
