in addition, if you add virtualhost to MAMP ( 
http://clickontyler.com/virtualhostx/ , currently on saleand well worth the 
price) you can deploy your site/web app/etc.. on your LAN and test various 
configuration (PC/Mac/Linux/iPhone/iPad/various androids etc …) I use it to 
test my site on mobile devices.
