Learned this one in County Clare. Ingredients: wedge of lemon, 6 to 8 cloves, teaspoon of brown sugar, Irish whiskey and boiling water.
Stick the sharp ends of the cloves into the lemon wedge, and put in the glass with sugar and whiskey (to taste); leaving the spoon in the glass, pour boiling water into glass; stir.
