This is not documented in the Release notes.
Unfortunately, it looks like the most important word disappeared from
that sentence - it should be "OSX 10.5 (Leopard) support dropped".
That is what I understood previously, and was a bit surprised.

The major change in 6.7 was moving from Carbon to Cocoa APIs on OSX and
to do that we needed to use a couple of APIs that were only available on
10.6 onwards.
