Hi All, I’ve been thinking up some nice uses for internal school apps that let younger students record audio into an iPad. It would be nice to be able to share what they record with other students and their teachers.
I played around with Monte’s open source MergMicropphone example on an iPad 2 and it seems to work well for certain formats. However, it saves the sound file in Apple’s newer .caf format. It plays back easily enough on the iPad it was recorded on, but I’m wondering what my options are for sharing the audio files? Originally, I thought I would provide and easy upload of the audio file to an internal web server but I’m not sure how to convert the audio file into a format that will play in a web browser mp4 etc.? I have access to on-rev too. Maybe there is a utility that would run on the server and auto convert files uploaded to a specific folder? Not sure how I’d go about that though…?
