I'm glad it sounds reasonable to you, but to me it doesn't sound right. I don't like subscription-ware. If I pay for something, I want to call it mine --to some extent.

Moreover, the annual subscription license is more expensive than the old Enterprise license, because the Enterprise license could be obtained at an update price, or one could decide to update once every 2 or 3 years. The new licensing scheme forces you to buy new licenses every year, if you have a commercial product.
