John, It maybe useful for you to inform RR that their site is difficult for you to navigate successfully, I'm sure you're not the only one who struggles with the light colours, but your personal experience should help them make informed decisions in future.
I know there were several complaints about the light green text on the LC site when they first started using them, and they did darken the green slightly. I think it was Richard Gaskin that pointed out that light green is not a good choice for people with colour blindness. I know it is possible to use a local css file to change the link colours, so I tried this wondering if it may help, but it seems that because of the way the LC lessons are formatted, the css changes don't have any effect on this site, at least in Safari. You can use Firefox however, and it does allow you to change the link colours in preferences, not too sure about IE though.
