Sounds like you have a stray "put" with no target. Go into the script editor Find window, click "More", select Stack File in the "Look In" menu, click the Find Options and select "Regular Expression" in the Search method options, then type this in the FInd field:
(?im)^(?!--)\s*put\s((?!(into|after|before|\\)).)*$ It will list any lines in your stack file that contain "put" and don't have Into, after, or before.
