If you are on the mac, I advice you to try virtualHost
http://clickontyler.com/virtualhostx/
in conjunction with MAMP
http://www.mamp.info/en/
this allows deployment of your website on your LAN.
Excellent for testing your site on mobile devices.
For a small fee, you can deploy it on the internet, provided the site is static
with their "Lift Off" service.
