Since 2011: http://wiki.scratch.mit.edu/wiki/Scratch_2.0 Scratch has been completely rewritten in Adobe Flash for version 2.0 but still runs projects from older versions of Scratch. It's still completely free and without ads. and before (V 1.4) was written with Scratch..
