I take issue with that word 'British' as we Scots from the East coast up from Dundee will not
do things in the same way as people from, say, London.

Within the British Isles there is a vast range of cultural nuances (and that is just among the "natives", let alone the recent arrivals from the subcontinent, the Caribbean and Africa). Similarly so where I stay in Bulgaria, which, despite heavy government propaganda (one could say "crap" here with impunity) is multicultural
to an alarming extent.

Cultures and national boundaries to not co-occur.
