yeah… troll.

He might try looking at Wowmatrix, which was written ENTIRELY in Livecode. It
goes out to various WOW add-on sites, checks for the latest versions, compares
it with the users current version, allows the user to selectively or globally
update their add-ons, has a live update feature built in, looks great etc.

I’m sure there are LOTS of apps built with Livecode out there, both in the
commercial world, and in use as custom apps. I was halfway done with a VERY
complex app that could be used to manage hotels, only I got let go by my prior
employer who I was writing it for, so I’m not enthusiastic about finishing it.
I recently created and am using my Forms Generator app, which fills out PDF
forms I use everyday with data from a Sequel database. It’s a HUGE tool for me,
and I am adding on to it regularly new features that make it even more useful.
I have a button I click that opens a Google Map using their API so that it
shows up on my iPhone when I need to navigate to the site! I am finishing up a
feature which will take the Excel forms I am getting from the dispatcher and
parsing the data in them to populate the database with. All I have to do is
drop the spreadsheets into a designated folder and click a button, and next
thing I know all the customer, site, copier and accessory data has populated my
Sequel database.

Everyone here at where I work LOVE the fact that I am producing professional
looking forms, and want me to convert ALL the forms we use everyday to editable
forms. What this narrow minded short sighted individual cannot seem to grasp is
the power it gives a single developer like me to quickly create really useful
applications which would take a team of C developers MONTHS and even YEARS to
produce, and then expand on them to suit my needs spending a few hours in the
evenings while sucking down a beer or three. .

So he loves to code in Java or C? More power to him. Let me see a list of ALL
the apps HE has created in the last 5 years that I can find on the internet,
and I will gladly concede his points! Hah! Fat chance.

Bob

Of course if you really wan to rub his face in the above you should post it on the thread in the Forums.

He certainly was a bit "tetchy" re my last post there :/
