Thanks James and Mike. I am on a Mac and I think have TextWrangler installed somewhere so I can take a look at that. The plugin is RegEx Builder, right Mike?
The video tutorials I mentioned are really good since they are very interactive and use lots of examples. I already know how to validate an email address and an ip address... not that I need to do either of those things but the examples that show how to do it and explain it are really useful.
