I have a baffling condition. Over the many years I have used MetaCard in my

Group a bunch of objects and you can cut and paste and reuse them as a group
everywhere. The key feature with a group is that it acts like one: unless you
explicitly open it, it functions as a simple object. Apparently, no longer. I
paste a group and then go to, say, move it: no dice. I can't move it as a
group, and all (and only) of the sub-elements are selectable. Indeed, it
doesn't behave as a group at all, even though the Control Browser still claims
it is. So, go back to the original stacks containing the groups. Same thing:
they don't function as groups, even though the control browser still claims
they are.
OK, deep breath, so: create a new stack, group a button and a field. Same
thing: the individual objects are still individually selectable even when
grouped. When did this happen? And please, this behaviour seriously ruins my
routine: indeed, it renders most of my lab work impossible.
Metacard IDE version: 4.1
Engine version: 5.0.1
Build number: 1466
Which is the latest I get using metacard_setup and the latest LiveCard IDE
(5.0.2).
Why not just revert to an earlier engine?
