Saw a discussion about this somewhere. Think a plugin came out of the talk, but can't remember for sure. If I find it i'll link. (there was also a nifty multi-montor graphic representation thingy that was really cool)
Should be pretty easy to put a plugin together to check for valid locations against the screenrects. On this subject though, is there a message sent if a monitor in a dual setup goes offline?
