It has been done before. To have a stack that is only partially see trough, you need to set the windowshape. Obviously a windowShape is not resizable per se. But, and that's what you can do, it's possible to set the windowShape repeatedly to simulate animations and movements. So you'd need to somehow create or resize a custom image, and set a stacks windowShape when the user resizes iz.
In general that's prone to be finicky and look weird if not done very careful, so in effect I think it's probably not worth the effort.
