It seems LC cannot parse an in-line binfile reference so a variable is needed...
on mouseUp
get the fileName of img 1
set the clipboardData["image"] to url("binfile:" & it)
end mouseUp
All working now.

works as exspected here:
LC 10.0.3 rc2, macOS 26.1
Same with LC Create DP9 on macOS.
