Dear LiveCoders,

I was just reading an article about SSL certificates for websites, and came
across this statement:

"The maximum validity period for SSL/TLS certificates is being significantly
reduced to just 47 days by 2029.
This change aims to enhance security and reduce risks associated with
compromised certificates.”

I don’t know about you, but I have several websites that I have to renew the
SSL/TLS certificates for every year.
It is always a PITA, and a big time waster as far as I am concerned. It looks
to me like the big guys just want to
force all of us into forking over more money more often to them just so we can
stay in business. Most of the
members on their forum are the big SSL certification organizations. Just
imagine having to renew all of your
website certificates seven times a year instead of just once every year!

I think LiveCode should be help us to deal with this issue as it will effect
all LiveCode servers which is where
many of us have been concentrating our efforts lately as the App stores have
proved to be a great disappointment
for a lot of developers.

Please feel free to share this information with your friends, and let us know
what you think about it too!
