Hi Richard, I realize that email is a terrible substitute for verbal communication.
I did not read anywhere that Klaus was offering to file a bug report for me in what he wrote. It sounded more like he wanted me to write to LC support privately about my concerns. In no way should anyone have construed I was criticizing Klaus. He has helped many people here, including me over the years. I expressed some frustration with LC not coming through with their promise of supplying us with a compiler. Don’t try to read what I wrote as anything more than that. I certainly had no intentions of trying to start any kind of an argument with either Klaus or you. I know in the past we have had issues on the list where someone gets to be little too negative, and then the list monitoring people have to get involved to shut it down. I regret any misunderstandings my post has apparently caused for anyone. While your clarification about the rendering system causing slowdowns for animation frame rates not being improved by a compiler, perhaps that points at a major improvement that the people at LC should work on in the near future. We all just want a better and faster development process for LC projects. Cheers to both you and Klaus, Rick > On Jun 22, 2025, at 6:55 PM, Richard Gaskin via use-livecode > <use-livecode@lists.runrev.com> wrote: > > Rick Harrison wrote: >> The compiler would have helped to speed up >> things so we could make better animations >> and games.
