I was thinking you would omit the lock screen altogether. Or if things are too slow without it can you move to a different card while all that other stuff is happening?

The problem is that "lock screen" hinders the progress bar to be updated while the loop is running. I also tried to shortly "break" the lock screen by inserting unlock screen lock screen within the loop, hoping that it would update the display, but to no avail. Thank you anyway for the idea.
