Can’t really help but would be surprised if Mini issue? I’ve had issues with swapping things on my USB hub. I have a 10 port powered Aukey hub; 3 of the ports are power only for charging things without mounting. On the others, when I plug in a new accessory everything dismounts for a bit and then comes back. I haven’t figured out why and just avoid inserting things while other activities are going on. I leave a lightning cable or two plugged in even if not using them as the problem seems to only occur when I insert something into the USB ports on the hub and not when I mount something to a previously connected cable (though I could just be missing the issue).
