Save a lot of lines by using "format":
on countdown t
put format("%02d:%02d:%02d",t div 3600,(t mod 3600) div 60,t mod 60) into fld
1
subtract 1 from t
if t < 0 then exit countDown
send "countdown t" to me in (1000-the millisecs mod 1000) millisecs
end countdown
