They said they had a RAID that failed that caused a mess. One still has to do backups for any RAID for that reason. Even if they were just using Time Machine to perform a backup of their RAID they only would lose a maximum of one hour’s worth of data. If they were doing transaction logging they wouldn’t lose more than 1 transaction. They could have been up and running again pronto.
