The best I can think of is that the datagrid has a property named columns which returns a list of column names, one per line, in the order they appear. The dgColumn property gives you the name of the current column so you can locate that in the columns property and move to the next/prev column in that list. Depending on where your script is you could probably get the long ID with something like "the long id of control the dgcolumn of me"
