In some strange way, this limitation is carried to command line image processing applications.
Some time ago, when I was building an interface for the Tracing program named "Potrace", http://potrace.sourceforge.net/ the command-line image utility named "mkbitmap" produced distorted results when called from LiveCode processing images bigger than 4096 pixels. If I process the same image using System´s command prompt the results are correct.
