So if you used a bookmark that had the phpBB2 in it, it would fail.
Likewise, search results all had the wrong form in them. I noticed that on
Saturday and would manually edit the URLs after following them to a 404.
This is a long-standing issue for all web sites, so more than half a
decade ago I suggested RunRev handle this as other important sites do,
using redirects whenever significant URLs change:
<http://quality.runrev.com/qacenter/show_bug.cgi?id=2156>
The cost to RunRev and the community as a whole in not implementing
redirects would seem far greater than the cost of adopting this common
solution.
