I need some advice with on-rev server? My son wanted me to host a website that he purchased a domain name from go-daddy, he didn't purchase server space or anything else , just the name. He does not want the address to be somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com but instead he would like www.somename.com and then have www.somename.com point directly to my somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com.
Do I need to first create the somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com? This makes sense??? I Do Not want this to point to my main on-rev account !!! But which cPanel service should this be? SubDomain? Addon Domain? Parked Domain? Redirect? --I'm guessing it should be Addon Domain??? But then which Go-Daddy service should I use? Parked Domain? Subdomain and Forwarding? Forwarding? Forwarding w/o Masking? Forwarding with Masking? CNAME or AList(ANAME)???? I've been reading all day and have some idea but am not sure which is the right way to proceed. Any advice is appreciated. I am thinking that I need to: 1. Buy the www.somename.com domain name from Go-Daddy. Did that. 2. Create "Addon Domain" in CPanel on on-rev.com for somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com 3. Change the G-Daddy service to Forwarding with Masking to point to the Addon Domain. -- OR -- 1. Buy the www.somename.com domain name from Go-Daddy. Did that. 2. Create a "Sub-Domain" in CPanel on on-rev.com for somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com 3. Create "Addon Domain" in CPanel on on-rev.com for the sub-domain somename.lazyriver.on-rev.com 4. Change the G-Daddy service to Forwarding with Masking to point to the Addon-Domain.
