-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hello, I'm new to the mailing list. I'm using GTK+ and GNOME since years. I'm a software developer who uses GTK+, and I would like to discuss about an HIG proposal of mine.
HIG now suggests to use ':' in the text field label (label + entry): http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/stable/design-text-labels.html.en "If the label precedes the control it is labelling, end the label with a colon." Personally, in my applications I always avoid using ':' such way, it's redundant for the UI and it's one more character to keep in consideration for the user eyes. I actually use ending ':' in labels when the text field or other widgets are at the bottom, for layout matters. These are some screenshots of my latest application: http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2384/2743364149_3258418491_o.png http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3167/2743368623_842a83468c_o.png What do you think about? Are colons really a need?
