Right now, please file a bug against the HIG component (or in this case, add your suggestion to the existing bug: <http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=95110 >) Development on the HIG has been rather stagnant for a while, through lack of resources and not quite knowing what best to do with it next, but I'm itching to kickstart that process again so hopefully things will be moving again soon-ish.
