Searching packages.ubuntu.com doesn't yield me any other packages that install a version of Real Player newer than 8. Could you tell me which package(s) you're referring to?
Unfortunately, Helix Player does not work with e.g The Australian ABC video news online ( ttp://www.abc.net.au/vod/news ) There's an error about failed transport that I wasn't able to fix. Don't get me wrong but I'd like to drop it too but there isn't a Free alterntive yet.
