I don't like the idea of assigning separate behaviour to left-ALT and right-ALT by default.
Some keyboards (netbooks, macs, etc.) only have one alt key, and having buttons with the same label do different things is non-obvious, difficult to explain, and makes it much more difficult to provide instructions.
