Other then that I really don't like Transmission, what could it
"indicate" more? Because I guess most torrent programs behave the same
with the indicators.

Yes, you've grasped the basic idea. Indicators are meant
primarily as an indication of something, like a notification
that you can or should respond to. Many applications should
rather use a quicklist than an indicator.
I absolutely agree that Transmission should rather use
Quicklists than indicator as its currently being used, simply
because it's just a menu and doesn't indicate anything.
With regards to Skype, you'll have to use Skype/Microsofts bug
tracker, I guess. :)
Transmission is more of a background service (or at least for a
lot of people that seed) , so it shouldn't be in the launcher all
the time (if it's not pinned) . It could be more "indicating" ,
but that's another topic :)

Torrents completed , seeding ,not seeding , there are a bunch of
conditions that can be implemented . That you don't like transmission is
a whole different story :D get deluge or something (I'm not the biggest
fan of transmission either , but deluge doesn't handle magnet links -if
you dont use them it's very good ) .
