You've just done the same thing, and have you not? (refuted his claim
with no evidence)
His claim was that it is a fact that dodge is smarter and more
convenient. The fact that not everyone agrees, proves it not to be a
fact, but an opinion.

But what a great opinion !
Just as example, on the french community's forum, in a few hours, you
can read many "free design-testers" claiming that dodge is better for
their use...
Ubuntu is made for users, so designers should have a look at every
potential users, not just newcomers...
