*grins* Well, technically, that is not a case of attributive disambiguation, but rather ignorant redundancy.
RSVP is a French acronym for "R�pondez, s'il vous plait".
SVP is also the wellknown French acronym for "S'il vous plait", and a french trademark for an old, wellknown, reliable, and expensive private information service through phone call centers for various legal, administrative and fiscal questions.
SVP means "please" in English, so when I see "Please RSVP", there's a sort of repetition of "please", as if it was an emphatic and desesperate request: "Please reply, please"!
