I have a question concerning the UMLS:Similarity and UMLS:Interface which I am
struggling a bit with installing on a central unix server. I have downloaded
the most recent UMLS2013AA files and will be doing a local installation on my
Desktop of the whole thing using the metamorphosis install tool. In that
process I will also create the mysql database load files. What I really want
however is to load the UMLS into a mysql database on a central server where
most of my work takes place. I don't really need the metamorphosys program. My
question is if the UMLS:Interface and Similarity modules actually requires the
metamorphosis program/browser, or whether I can simply copy the MR*** and SR***
datafiles resulting from my local installation to the central server and load
them using the generated mysql load scripts. After that I would just install
the two Perl modules on the server. Do the modules only interact with the
database so that would work, or do they borrow functionality from the
metamorphosis program?

Thanks for any help
Peter
