As a work-around you can also use dconf-editor to set the config value
for /com/github/FontManager/FontManager/mode to 'browse'. It won't allow
you to access Google fonts, but you can at-least get back to using the
rest of the application.

Title:
  font-manager app crashes due to bwrap (apparmor)

Status in font-manager package in Ubuntu:
  Confirmed

Bug description:
  Hi,

  When I select from the "Manage" menu the "Google fonts" the
  application crashes. It saves its state before crash, so next time the
  application does not even start (because it is in the "Google fonts"
  view).

  If started from terminal, the following error message is printed:
  -------------
  bwrap: setting up uid map: Permission denied

  ** (font-manager:15240): ERROR **: 13:23:43.007: Failed to fully launch
dbus-proxy: Child process exited with code 1
  Trace/breakpoint trap (core dumped)
  -------------

  == 0 ==> lsb_release -rd
  Description:  Ubuntu 24.10
  Release:      24.10

  == 0 ==> apt-cache policy font-manager
  font-manager:
    Installed: 0.9.0-3
    Candidate: 0.9.0-3
    Version table:
   *** 0.9.0-3 500
          500 http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ oracular/universe amd64 Packages
          100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

  As a quick workaround I created an apparmor profile with "userns",
  enabled it and started the application successfully.

  I did not try the bwrap profile from apparmor-
  profiles_4.1.0~beta1-0ubuntu3_all.deb package.

  Thanks,
  Attila
