Audacity 3.x depends on wxwidgets3.1, which isn't packaged in Debian and Ubuntu, see https://bugs.debian.org/919903 This year wxwidgets developers plan to release final 3.1.6 release, maybe 3.1.6 will be OK for Debian packaging, see https://wxwidgets.org/develop/roadmap/
