I've downloaded the iso for i386 again and checked the hash and it seems to be
ok (0d8e32933e76fafd381ecde19d8d8351), but I'm still having the same problem.
What else can I try?

I may suggest that you have a bad download and that you should try to download
again.

I've tried to run a live session on a USB stick for a Trusty Daily iso but I
could not log in, I've tried to open a terminal (Ctrl+Alt+F1) but couldn't log
in either, it displays a message that says "authentication failed" so I
couldn't run apport too. Is anyone having the same problem?

ps: I'm having problems with my VM too so I won't be running iso tests untill
my machine comes back to normal and this may take a while.
