Recovery Mode should offer an option: xfix - try to fix XServer

Another option shows: root - drop to root shell
This is a privileged command line [CLI]. When finished type either: exit or
reboot
e.g. to find out specifics about graphics:
lshw -C video
##note the first letter is lower case of 'L'
##btw.
If you like to know more details about your system:
lshw -short
Much more details should be piped to less, so you can use keys [page up+down]
and quit with [Q]
Otherwise it will be a huge output at once and difficult to read.
e.g.:
dmidecode | less
